5.29.07 Yeah, this whole America thing? Not really working out...

Where went the days when all the guys wore powdered wigs and dressed like the Quaker Oatmeal guy? You know, the days when we actually sort of had a government? Or at least, the poor fashionably ill guys had a chance at making the country pretty cool. Now Bush's approval rating is pretty much not even an approval rating anymore and our country is constantly getting in trouble for shooting in some other country overseas. To add insult to injury, Paris Hilton's going to jail. That just seals the deal...
Of course, she's already gotten about half of her sentence taken away; who's to say she won't just get pardoned? I for one am surprised that she even knew who the governor was when she asked for a pardon from Schwarzenegger.
Now Jack Kevorkian, known as Doctor Death, is leaving prison after only eight years of his 10-25 year sentence. This guy broadcasted a murder on primetime people...talk about bad news.
Michael Jackson's now auctioning off a bunch of his stuff. Um...I'll just say right now, I've got a good supply of footie pajamas in my closet. I don't wanna see what this guy's selling...
Lindsay Lohan was recently arrested on a DUI charge after police found cocaine at the scene. What happened to the little faux twins from Parent Trap? She used to be cute and innocent but it now seems like she's doing anything to be heard from.
Well, I'm afraid this is all I have for today. It's been sort of a slow news day.
Random fact of the day: The only mammal that can't jump is the elephant.
P.S. Charles Nelson Reilly has died. Yes, the favorite celeb of most from Match Game has passed due to pneumonia *moment of silence inserted here*

There are a lot of negatives in America, sure, but you have to consider the whole picture. While people find it easy to lay blame to Bush, that is because this is now. History will be what shapes him into how people see him in the future. As time passes, then we'll see what people really think.

And you really can not listen to the media and what they have to say about things, all of the time, or it will drive you mad. The news is 95% bad, and it will make you feel like our society is a joke. I refuse to believe that. All eras had rough spots. Look at the days of Nixon, he was seen as quite the evil man in his time. Or even Ronald Reagan. Ulysses S. Grant and Warren Harding were also considered "failures" of their time.

People are fickle and change their minds when they see fit. The public view of Bush was quite favorable only a few years back, who knows? Maybe he'll pull something out last minute and completely floor us all. I also think, people listen to a lot of the really negative stuff, but never leave a chance open to get a balanced view. They just think however CNN tells them to.

Not to defend Bush too much. I didn't vote for this president, and just from my own personal feelings, I never really trusted him.

Interesting read though. Quite similar to the sort of thoughts that drift through my head on a day-to-day basis.
